I have just started using the FREE “Slurlblogger” by Ordinal Malaprop. It is a HUD attachment that allows one to add an SLURL for any place you visit, along with a note, and then sends it to your blog or email at the touch of a button. A brilliant idea, brilliantly realised. You can pick one up at Ordinal Enterprises Caledon 93,38,26.

Ordinarily, I wouldn’t bang on about an SL prefab this much, but the Metropolis factory from Kongo Designs (Fillip 123,125,27) is by far and away the best I have yet found; awesome attention to detail, fantastic gadgets, great textures and atmospheric sounds.
I’ve had to tweak a couple of anachronistic exterior lights to keep the neighbours happy, but this place is pure Steampunk - exactly what I’ve been looking for all over SL for weeks.

In the last post, I also mentioned Miss Tombola’s fantastic ornithopter…

Without doubt, my favourite Steampunk craft. Run along to La Bicyclette at Caledon Eyre 44,185,23 and pick one up for yourself, you certainly won’t regret it.

Ok, so I’m settled(ish) in Caledon Eyre with a HUGE steampunk factory prefab, a brand new AV which is a composite of a few bits and pieces from my ever-expanding inventory and some new wardrobe items picked up in Babbage. When I get some pics up here, I’ll credit all the suppliers properly.
In other news, the Deadlight Heights development is now available for rent. It’s the best build I’ve done and, if no one moves in soon, I might just grab one of the apartments for myself. Perhaps I’ll do that anyway in the hope of attracting visitors… There’s now a café in the foyer and I’m going to throw some art up there tomorrow. Even introduced some plants, as suggested by the always-brilliant Orange Tracy.
While I’m on the subject of plants, thanks to Ms Terry Lightfoot (one of the creative giants of Caledon) for suggesting I throw some “really big” plants up in the windows of my steampunk factory. Why do I never think of plants?
Thanks also to Mister Edward Pearse for recommending the Tombola Ornithopter to me; a fantastic flying experience, as demonstrated by one of Sl great pilots, and to Miss Virrginia Tombola for building the ornithopter and for being so helpful when I had teething problems.
It’s people like these that remind me daily why Caledon is one of the greatest places in this or any other world.
